Lieutenant Colonel Bryan C. Bergman was raised in Moraga, California. In July 2010, he graduated from Santa Clara University and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and reported to The Basic School at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virgina, where he attended the Basic Officer Course. After Basic Officer Course, he reported to Communications School at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, where he attended the Basic Communications Officer Course (MOS 0602). In December 2012, Second Lieutenant Bergman received orders to Communications Company, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) at Camp Pendleton, California.
Upon arrival to Communications Company, he served as the Maintenance Platoon Commander. In May 2012, he was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant. In July 2012, he was selected as the Communication Officer for Georgian Liaison Team 8 (GLT-8). While with GLT-8 he trained and deployed with the 42nd Georgian Light Infantry Battalion to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Upon his return he served as the Company Operations Officer and Company Executive Officer. In July 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Captain.
In November 2014, Captain Bergman received orders to Marine Corps Systems Command Quantico, Virginia where he served as the Dismounted Project Officer for the Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare program. Captain Bergman completed Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (Blended Seminar) in May 2017. In July 2017, Captain Bergman received orders to 7th Communication Battalion, III MEF in Okinawa, Japan. During his time with 7th Communication Battalion he served as the Bravo Company Commander and the Battalion Assistant Operations Officer. In November 2019 Captain Bergman attended and graduated MAGTF Communication Planners Course (MOS 0603) in Twentynine Palms, California. He was promoted to Major in May 2020.
In July 2020, Major Bergman received orders to United States Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, where he served as the J65 Tactical Requirements Branch Chief. While with the Command, Major Bergman completed Marine Corps Command and Staff (Blended Seminar) in November 2021. In May 2022, Major Bergman deployed as the Director, Joint Communications Directorate for Combined Special Operations Joint Task Force - Levant in support of Special Operations Command Central and Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve.
In July 2023, Major Bergman received orders to 2nd Marine Logistics Group (2d MLG) at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to serve as the Deputy G-6. In February 2024, Major Bergman assumed duties as the 2d MLG G-6 Operations Officer. In May 2025, Major Bergman assumed the duties as the II MEF G6 Operations Officer. In January 2026, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In June 2026, received orders to Communication Training Battalion, Marine Corps Communications Electronics School aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, in Twentynine Palms, California to serve as the Commanding Officer.
Lieutenant Colonel Bergman holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Santa Clara University and a Masters of Professional Studies in Technology Management from Georgetown University. Lieutenant Colonel Bergman's personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Fourth Award), and the Combat Action Ribbon.
